
Building Condition Assessor:
Assesses sites throughout the province on an annual basis by leveraging existing CBRE processes
Assesses major building components and equipment in the building while considering factors such as condition, inventory, quantity and replacement costs
Conducts interviews with Facility Managers, building staff and other contacts familiar with the facilities to gather information relevant to the assessments as per client specific scope of work
Independently researches building records (drawings) and files (i.e. studies, project reports, etc).
Prepares written reports summarizing findings, explaining and quantifying condition and proposing recommendations using Capital Planning Software
Participates actively in supporting and maintaining CBRE quality control tools
Reviews accuracy of information collected and verifies the integrity of the data being collected to ensure high quality deliverables
Addresses client’s questions and comments/feedback in connection with reports produced and ultimately acquires client approval
Provides regular program progress reporting using organizational tools and procedures
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Building Science (i.e. Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist designations are an asset). PMP, PEng certification or Masters an asset
2 -5 years of direct work experience in the field
Able to read drawings and blueprints in order to carry out quantity take-offs
Knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD)
Familiar with RSMeans and experience with costing/estimating
Experience with condition assessment of building systems
Familiar with design of interior building components
Quick learner (need to work with capital planning software to enter/modify data)
Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex situations
Ability to solve problems in scenarios involving multiple options
Advanced analytical skills
Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite is an asset
Job requires travel, which is estimated 25% of the total time.
In addition to the qualifications, CBRE will conduct training and orientation sessions by using training packages prepared for this role.
