Senior Mortgage Underwriter (Bilingual) – Canwise – Montréal, QC

Attention experienced Bilingual (French/English) Mortgage Underwriters – we are looking for you!

CanWise Financial is looking for an experienced Residential Mortgage Underwriter to add to our expanding and fast growing team.

This role will be focused on rendering credit decisions on incoming applications, while adhering to the Company and Insurer policy and guidelines and focusing on client satisfaction.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintain positive relationships with clients, insurers, and all external contacts.
• Adjudicate and verify Mortgage applications, credit reports, income documents for completeness and accuracy, as well as other credit information.
• Terms and conditions on all mortgage applications.
• Review of real estate appraisals for consistency, with prevailing market conditions.
• Follow up on outstanding conditions/documents.
• Review and verify all supporting documents – full case underwriting which includes document fulfillment.
• Prepare and issue mortgage commitments.
• Loan to Value analysis.
• Ensure due diligence at all times prior to signing off on any mortgage documents.
• Continued focus on service excellence.
• Stay current with the latest industry knowledge, competition, and market trends.
